Transformation Tuesdays Week #52

Well, it's a year later since I decided to do Transformation Tuesdays. What did I learn about myself?

  • I have no self control
  • I am a VERY emotional eater
  • I try to do something and when I fail, food is my go to
  • I DEFINITELY don't follow through like I need to
  • In a year of ups and downs with weight, I only gained 5.2 lbs at the end of it
  • I lost my motivation
  • I lost my drive
  • I am running out of excuses
The last one is the one I am focusing on. I AM RUNNING OUT OF EXCUSES. I don't like being overweight. It's not the way people are towards me, it's how I am towards myself. When I lost weight down to 260, I didn't look much different BUT I had confidence in myself. I FELT sexy. I didn't care what others thought AND I didn't care what I thought about myself as I thought I looked great! I think that is to be my theme this coming year, finding myself again and making myself feel healthy, well, and so confident in myself. I'm planning on writing up my New Year's Resolutions and posting them. I would hate to think I fail them but I know I truly am what is holding myself back at this time!

Wow!

I took a longer hiatus then I was planning on! I still am out a laptop at the moment and we all are sharing one computer. With 3 kids and a geeky husband who LOVES to play his games, it's hard to get a few minutes on it! Hopefully I will be back to posting more regularly as I do plan on making the blog more of a priority again!

Transformation Tuesdays Week #43

So, here is my goal for the end of the year. On Tuesday, December 30th (10 weeks from now) I hope to be down to 260.0 lbs. I figured I would make it a nice and simple goal. It's not about the measures, etc right now. It's that I start. I have a terrible time starting then continuing with my weight loss goals. I need to do this not only for me but for my family. If I'm eating terribly, so are they. I help bring the junk in so I need to help take it out. I guess the only thing I can look at positively for this year so far is that I haven't really gained any weight. There is so much worse that I could have done. Got to be positive to continue the positive!

Transformation Tuesdays Week 42

Well, I totally fell off the wagon. I let myself do whatever I wanted. I got in a major funk. There is so much I could say and so many excuses, but I'm just going to put that behind myself right now. I have been working on my eating this week and so far been doing much better. I'll start adding a goal or two in there too but for right now, I am just going to try and take it a day at a time, a meal at a time because that is where I have to be. Everyone has to start somewhere right?

Being A Mom Sucks....

There are days you just want to vent. You decide facebook/twitter/where ever is a great place and just let loose. "Everyone understands where I am coming from and will agree!" you think. As a mom, you just need to vent and get it out and then you're better, right?

Wrong! There is always that one "friend" out there on your list. You know the one. They are crabby, mean, and always seem to have a comment for everything. Instead of you just venting out the frustration to feel better and know you aren't alone, there is that one "friend" that tells you how horrible you are.

"Your kid isn't potty trained? He knows how, you just aren't doing it right"

"Your house isn't clean? You have all this free time why aren't you cleaning it? It's not that hard!"

"Seriously, you don't make your kids do it? I don't see why not! It's not that hard to keep a house clean."

"You get time to watch tv? Why do that to yourself?? You have 3 hours without kids you should be cleaning and getting everything done while no one is home. That's a waste of time."

For these comments, I have started to not want to post at all. I have started holding it more in. I feel like a worthless mom. I feel like I am not doing ANYTHING right. When you are a stay at home mom, you don't have as many outlets to get things out. You have those wonderful little kids around that don't understand why mommy is upset. Unlike portrayed on TV shows and such, as a stay at home mom I really don't have any friends that I go out with. I have been forcing myself into more situations to get around more moms but then you see the clicks, the moms who are putting on that wonderful front of being awesome. The moms that are already friends and so they spend the whole time talking at the table so you just sit there and eat a donut and drink your coffee while feeling judged about that donut and the way your hair is and how you didn't breastfeed your babies.

The point of this whole post. MOMS it is okay for you to vent! It's okay for you to feel like you aren't doing anything right! Don't pay attention to those haters! They are just jealous and trying to make you feel bad. They don't know your life. They don't know your situation! They don't know your kids! Be the best mom you are! Enjoy that Netflix binge. Enjoy that cup of coffee in solitude right before the pick up round up comes. As a society, people need to learn to be more kind. You don't like when people post rude on your facebook post, so don't do it right back. Remember you are the daughter of God, you are the way God intended you to be and you are doing the best you can!

Transformation Tuesdays Week 26

First off, seriously how can this year already be half over?! That is just crazy! It's time to really get to work on my personal goals. I think it will be better to get this going this fall but I really need to work on it not matter as a time as a mindset. We are looking at buying a house in the future so got to start working on tracking our expenses and see where we can cut and save money. We have gone through Dave Ramsey 3 times and some things have stuck but we have fallen off that wagon too many times again. Time for us to really focus and keep ourselves from getting too over our head! Yet another mindset needed to be changed. It takes 21 days to make a habit, it takes one day to drop it! Is there anything you are working on to make better in your life? How do you keep up with that?

Transformation Tuesdays Week 25

My body and I were in a fight last week. It's going on this week too a bit but I'm going to get over that bump in the road now! I explained it in my 30 Day Shred Day #1 Again post, but I'll put it here too. I have PCOS. (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) It sucks. A lot. I take medicine to keep myself "regular" but there are times my body decides to do other things still. Or I being stupid don't take my medicine when I'm supposed to and forget to get the refill until 2 weeks after.....meaning basically 2 in 1...... so in some ways this is my fault. BUT my kids made me work out yesterday and instead of in a bad mood, I started to get in a better mood :) I am hoping this week brings some great transformations for myself both physically and mentally!

Transformation Tuesdays Week 24

This past week has been a hard one on me. Summer with 3 kids at home is hard, I feel sorry for their teachers during the school year! We are trying to find fun things to do but right now I just don't want to leave the house! I didn't do too well on my personal goals this past week but I think I am on a great track compared to if I wasn't making goals. I also started 30 Day Shred again yesterday so I will put up a post later about that so I can update you on that throughout the 30 days of doing it. Hopefully this next week will be better (as my kids are screaming at the top of their lungs at each other as I typed that!)

Transformation Tuesdays Week 16

Well, I am still failing. I keep trying but then fail. It is not failure until you give up. Well, the past month I basically have given up. I keep getting inspired by others, but then I keep letting myself fail. My goal today is since I don't have the kids for 3 hours as daddy is going with 2 of them to a field trip and the last in school already, I am going to the gym. If I don't make it to the gym, I will work on my garden. I need to do something. I have no energy. I am not wanting to be comfortable to my body. I do want to feel comfortable but in the fact that I am HAPPY. I had a great AH HA moment last year. I keep thinking I have them but then just fail. I think more than anything is I need to just make it to the gym ONCE and that will be enough to really start kicking it into my head. I can't just eat better because I fail very much at that! I need to work out to see the difference/kick the extra calories out of the way to then make my body love and crave the better foods to do even better. It's a mental fight inside my head, that's for sure!

What do you do to stay motivated?
What do you do to keep yourself on track?

Break!

Sorry all (about the 10 that actually read this!) I let life get busy and this is one of the things I gave up to let life get me! BUT I am back and hopefully next time I take a break like that I will let you all know! Part of that break was me down in New Orleans for a conference, man what a trip! Hopefully I will get all caught up this week and by next Monday, I will have a freezer meal recipe for you too!

Transformation Tuesdays - Week 11

For the first time in about 6 months, I see the end of the tunnel. I see the light! Yesterday was the first time in forever that I can remember that I ate better portions. I knew EVERYTHING that went in my mouth. I knew all the calories and wrote it all down. I had gained some weight in the last couple of weeks from depression and binge eating TONS of food. So much so I would make my stomach hurt, turn around and eat some more. It was a bottomless pit. It still feels that way. BUT yesterday I finally did it! I know the big thing I need out of the house is all the sugar junk. It's the end of that wonderful time of the month so hopefully I will be able to get rid of the HUGE craving I have for chocolate and junk and sugar! I know you lose water weight the first week or two so I am hoping I will keep up on my better eating! From yesterday to today, I lost 3.4 lbs! Proof I was eating too much. Proof I wasn't drinking enough. My mind is so much better and not as negative. Don't get me wrong, it's still so negative. I had a bad upbringing of negative self esteem through my peers and school district. I let myself get fat. It didn't happen overnight. I believed the lies that people said. I was fat, I was ugly, I was unwanted. And what did I do? I let them say that and it to seep into the mirror. Every time I look at myself I feel fat, I feel ugly, I feel worthless, I feel unwanted. I ALLOWED myself to start to believe the lies. I have been through a lot in my lifetime, and I want to be HAPPY! I want to be FEARLESS, I want to be the best I have ever been. I am learning to love myself. It's hard to get past those scars. I know I will fight them the rest of my life, but I need to start. The negativity in my head, that's the devil. Those evil thoughts/judgments, that's the devil. I have the ones that truly love me in my life. Those that make me feel bad, they shouldn't be in my life. Sad that it took me until 30 to officially want to change this. It's better late than never! The number shouldn't matter, its just to show how I am doing. That's what I need to remind myself.

Starting (January 7) : 278.4 lbs
Week 2 (Jan 14): 279.0 lbs
Week 3 (Jan 21): 280.8 lbs
Week 4 (Jan 28): 278.8 lbs
Week 9 (Mar 4): 281.4 lbs
Week 11 (Mar 18): 281.4 lbs

Transformation Tuesdays - Week 9

As I sit here writing, I feel like I have lost my will to lose weight. My mind tells me I can't do it. I look at my body and my clothes and think I can't change, I was crazy for thinking it. NO! I am crazy for thinking it can't happen! This time last year I was getting ready for my 3rd 5k race! This time last year I was bound and determined that I could get rid of this weight and be the person I wanted to be, not what other people wanted me to be. The difference between last year and this year? I am off my antidepressants (which hadn't been working for awhile anyways), I haven't done ONE 5k yet this year, let alone even signed up for one. I don't go to the gym every day and put it IN MY SCHEDULE that I'm going and see the reminder there every time I look at the calendar. I keep coming back to this blog thinking every week I will change, tomorrow. No, it needs to be today. I am NOT happy with myself and the way I feel so I need to do something to change that! One thing is I have been so busy doing volunteer work. I think this is great, but the first thing I need to learn to say is NO! I can say yes and hate it the whole time and feel the anxiety and pressures so much easier instead of just saying no! I know that some activities if I don't say yes will never happen, but that should not feel like it's my fault! Being a mom, I really need to learn to take time for myself. That is my goal this week, time to myself. That can be my daily devotional time AND something more. I'm going to try and get one gym time in this week. I might need to bribe myself, but it needs to be done. I am also going to try to log EVERYTHING  I eat at myfitnesspal. My user name is yo8798 if you want to send me some encouragement :) I apologize that my posts like this are random, I apologize that they might not be encouraging to you, but I don't apologize for me! This is me! This is the workings of a crazy mom of 3 that after 6 years of having one, then two, then three kids has still lost her mind and still can't balance her life! I'm the normal, average overweight, unhappy, loving my kids but not myself mom who NEEDS to put her life back in check!

Starting (January 7) : 278.4 lbs
Week 2 (Jan 14): 279.0 lbs
Week 3 (Jan 21): 280.8 lbs
Week 4 (Jan 28): 278.8 lbs
Week 9 (Mar 4): 281.4 lbs

Break Time Almost Over!

My little hiatus is almost over! I think I am finally getting things back in control so that I can get back to blogging regularly again! I am hoping to get a freezer meal up for y'all next Monday as I have an itch to do some freezer meals to help save some money and time! I have a few volunteers that want to do it too, so I'm thinking a freezer meals party might be happening soon! I hope to get a picture for wordless Wednesday up for y'all tomorrow and then Thursday I am going to share my favorite cookie recipe in the house right now, BLACK AND WHITES! I am loving my Joanne Fluke books right now and it is so hard not to try all the recipes in the books! This one I have made twice now and tweaked a bit to my liking and everyone that has tried one is in love.......now you will have to wait until Thursday to hear and see about it!! Hope y'all are having a great week! It will warm up this week!! Woohoo!

Sorry MIA .....

Sorry I've been MIA for a bit this week. It's been busy! I have started a Girl Scout Troop so of course that means.......

Trying to get everything figured out and ready for that, a meeting, a Early Learning Day for the capitol that I am putting presentations together, being a mom, doing house work, etc! Hopefully I will be back to it better and get caught up on things by Monday! That's my goal anyways!

What do you do to keep yourself on schedule? Is there a way you make sure you "have enough hours in the day?"

Transformation Tuesdays: Week 3

Well, here it is, week 3. I was hoping to have good news. I was hoping to say I've lost lots of weight and have been doing awesome! I was hoping to show a picture of my greatness. Guess what? I've gained weight again this week! Between stress and horomones and excuses I gained weight. I got another cold and using that as an excuse not to work out. I have allowed my mind to take over, telling me I am worthless, that I can't do this. I have failed to overcome that demon in my life. Well guess what. I am DONE listening to this demon. I am sick of putting myself down. The only way to change this is to change myself. So, again, I am going to tell myself I am worth it. I am going to continue to eat better and if I eat too much, it's okay. I am going to go for a walk, to clear my head, to get that exercise in, to make myself feel better. I can no longer wear my fitbit as I have found out it has nickel in it and I'm allergic to nickel. Thank goodness I didn't get as bad of a break out as others! So, now I will not be able to see how lazy I have been. WHICH I think maybe a good thing! I am human. I am a mom, a wife, a woman, someone who will fall but I WILL NOT FAIL! I need to do this for myself  more than any one else. I need to be happy with myself FOR myself and no one else. So with that:

Starting Weight (Jan 7): 278.4 lbs
Current Weight (Jan 21): 280.8 lbs

Yes, I know 2-3 lb gain, that's not bad. Well, when you tell yourself you will never see 280 again, you can't see it again, well then it hits you hard. I already was down to 260 this time last year. I got rid of all my "FAT" clothes and was never going to see this again. Well, I am and I am going to face it head on. I have to. Something has to change. I didn't want to share pictures, but I feel I have to. I know there are so many out there that deal with the same issues. They hate their body. No matter how much more weight they have lost, or are going to lose, they are always going to fill the same. We need to start to learn to love ourselves. Being "Bullied" my whole life, my self esteem is pretty low. I need to learn that I am who I am and no one can change that! Yes, I'm rambling but it's something I need to type out and I need to hear.

I AM BEAUTIFUL                            I AM WORTH IT                       I MATTER
I CAN DO WHAT I WANT                  I CAN LOOK GOOD IN WHAT I WANT
I AM PROUD OF WHO I AM                  I AM PROUD OF WHERE I HAVE COME
I AM MY OWN TRUE BEAUTY             I AM MY OWN TRUE SELF

Yes, my face doesn't look pleased. It wasn't just the pictures, it was the kids yelling and getting in the way and some other things going on. Plus, if you know me, you know I don't smile. I need to learn to smile again. Anyways, Here are my pictures. I AM GOING TO BE BETTER FOR MYSELF! I WILL LOVE MYSELF!!! That is my main goal at the moment. Learn to love myself. Learn who I am again. Learn that I can do anything!

I HAD SHINGLES!

I wanted to share part of the reason I hadn't been posting recently. Yes, it is just another excuse since I know it didn't last that long! I have just been slacking again!

One morning I woke up with a rash on my face....

I had used my daughter's detangler the night before so I figured I was having an allergic reaction. Not something I haven't had. It was in my scalp and a bit itchy in the hair there but it just made sense. The issue? I took a shower to make sure all the detangler was out and the rash was still there. In fact, it started to get a bit worse! By Saturday, I was starting to think I had a boil on my face! All the spots started to get worse! I had a doctor's appointment anyways that Monday so I decided to ask her about it.

This is about the worst that it got, thank goodness!

The doctor right away told me it was shingles. Me? Seriously?!?! Of course I would get it! Thing is 1 in 3 people will get shingles in their lifetime. I didn't really know anyone that had had shingles. After posting about me having shingles, about 20 of my friends said they had it before too! I was not alone! The good news is that for the most part its not contagious. All my kids have had the chicken pox vaccine so it couldn't effect them. My husband has had chicken pox so it wouldn't effect him. The bad news was that there was still a chance to give it to anyone who hasn't had the vaccine or the chicken pox. So, I ended up not leaving the house for almost a week. I went to church and stayed away from people and made sure not to scratch!

Here is a picture of the pills I had to take 3 times a day. I haven't taken a pill this big before! I felt like I might as well be swallowing that quarter!!!!

I have a new perspective for those who have had shingles. I was lucky. From having it on my face, I didn't have my clothes rubbing on it or irritating it. I just dealt with the flu like symptoms. Some people have it even better and some have it really bad. Most people will only get it once, but some people have the chance to have it many times. I have a friend who is only 25 who has had it 3 times now! Now I know what it looks like, so hopefully if it happens again to me, I will be able to get it taken care of faster!

.................

I don't even know what to call this post. I have gotten so far behind again :( There are many things I have been saying I would keep up with and not find myself back in a rut. Well, I guess I am back in a bad rut again. Depression is not a fun thing. I am finding I have my good days and my bad weeks. Its been a few bad weeks, maybe a month now. Today I woke up feeling a bit better and ready to take on the day. House work is the main target today. I hate how bad the house has gotten again. I will not show pictures as it will not pretty pretty and will probably make me feel worse.  Lets just say its not as bad as some houses but worse than a lot of others. Trying to find a balance between all this crazy madness and then including my head is a tough battle. I was on pinterest, my latest getaway drug, and found a couple great cleaning schedules. I put a bit of one together for myself and then printed it out. Its on my fridge and looks all pretty. Now, the goal is by this weekend to get the house completely caught back up to where I can actually do the list and then see how it goes. I am hoping it will bring the cleaning down to none like the marathons it feels I do when we are cleaning up.
